What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?
I use a Nikon D3100, with a Nikkor 18-105 (and an UV filter)
What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?
I love my camera, and still I have a lot to learn about using it.
What is your favourite lens, and why?
My actual lens, it works perfectly for me.
When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?
I have a small bag with raincoat (very useful), inside just my camera with the lens, and usual extras (cards, etc.)
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
I use Photoshop for making my pictures. I’m not a photographer, my main work is the post-processing.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration? How do you take your pictures?
I started playing with pictures about 7 years ago. My inspiration mostly come from the happenings of my life or around me, my actual feelings, or even some photos I took that grabs me and start a story.
Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?
I love all styles of photography, but black-and-white film photography was always my favourite, I think it can have the biggest impact and the deepest story if it’s really good.
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
I hope that my images have a story inside, and different people can find different meanings in them. If my work can bring something to the people, a feeling, a memory, or anything, I will be happy.
Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why? Please provide a link to the picture.

My favourite one is an old piece, with the beautiful eyes of my little sister. I love this picture because of her.
Does your work fit into any one or more distinct genres (nature, landscape, long-exposure, black-and-white, infra-red, urban, artistic, macro, vintage, vernacular, social, street)? If other, please specify.
What I’m doing it’s not photography, it’s more like painting. Digital surreal photomontage or photomanipulation, somewhere call it creative edit.
Are there any photography websites that you visit regularly?
There are many, I love to find beautiful pictures. For example a hungarian site, spottr.hu , and homeisaplaceinthehills.
What is the one most important lesson that you have learned since you started taking photographs?
Every little thing has a tale to tell. Children know the best of this.
And finally, what other interesting photographers would you like to see in this blog?
Aw.. I could name a lot, just a few of them: Vancsó Zoltán (http://www.photovancso.com/), Luc Kordas (http://luckordas.com/), Major Ákos (http://akosmajor.com/), Alain Laboile (http://www.laboile.com), Gígja Einarsdottir (http://www.flickr.com/photos/

What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?
I use the Nikon D600 and a bunch of prime lenses, the 35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4 and the 85mm 1.8.
What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?
I’d like to not blame my camera, but if there was something I would like to change is for Nikon to go back to the d700 body for the d600. They were definitely more comfortable to hold and use.
What is your favourite lens, and why?
Right now it has to be the Sigma 35mm 1.4. If I had to pack just one lens in my bag it would be this one, it is the perfect length for me, it is just about wide and close at the same time. Also, the quality of the glass is amazing and the spot on quick focussing abilities make it perfect for me.
When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?
Like I said now I can complete my travel gear with just that one lens. Else I would carry a tele and a wide angle lens. Along with my tripod and the grad ND filter.
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
I use Lightroom and Photoshop.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration? How do you take your pictures?
I have been taking photographs since 2005. It has been an every day activity and I have rarely thought about the why and how of the process. It has been instinctive and hope it continues to remains so.
Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?
I love portraiture and surrealism. The mix of two is the style I like best.
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
Someday I would like to work with Nat geo and however sinister this sounds I would like to document war.
Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why? Please provide a link to the picture.
There are two photographs that would definitely make my list of personal favourites, one happened by chance and the other after lot of planning.

Does your work fit into any one or more distinct genres (nature, landscape, long-exposure, black-and-white, infra-red, urban, artistic, macro, vintage, vernacular, social, street)? If other, please specify.
I do not know how to label my work. It is a photograph and the viewer can label it however they like it.
Are there any photography websites that you visit regularly?
500px, 1x and Flickr.
What is the one most important lesson that you have learned since you started taking photographs?
It has definitely made me more sensitive to the world around ( the real and the ones I make in my head)
And finally, what other interesting photographers would you like to see in this blog?
Ishita Singh has a beautiful fine-art portfolio and Richa Kashelkar for how simplistically she can show the soul of person or a place through her pictures.

What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?
I’m using Canon EOS 550d with 50mm f/1.4 and classic 18-55 kit lenses and hama travelling mini pro tripod which was a gift, and that’s all I use, I guess. . I used to take photos with small compact camera Samsung ES75.
What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?
The thing that really drives me crazy is that I don’t have remote controller so I have to use 10 seconds timer, and since I like to do selfportraits in water sometimes it gets quite exhausting to run to my camera and than get back in water. Another thing that really bothers me are my lenses , my focus ring stucked some time ago and i can’t shoot anything closer than 1,5 meters. My ”dream” equipment is canon 5dmark II but I am still going to high school and I don’t have a job so for now that’s only a dream hopefully it will come true one day. I’d also like to have polaroid and underwater camera bag and I’m looking forward buying them! 😀
What is your favourite lens, and why?
Although I like my lenses, i think any other wider lenses with low f stop will suit my photo style more.I like canon 50 mm f/1.4 because it creates wonderful bokeh.
When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?
When I travel i carry my tripod and my camera only, and since I take all of my photos in my village i don’t travel to further locations that much.
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
I use edit my photos a lot,and I’m just starting with learning new tehniques so it’s really entertaining 🙂 I’m using photoshop cs5 and I’m really happy with this version.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration? How do you take your pictures?
I’ve been taking hotographs for a few years now, but with long pauses because I was very young and had issues with equipment , I struggled with ideas etc,. I am inspired by almost everything, mostly with idea of dying, because I don’t find dying that scary like others do, there’s something beautifull in it.There are many ways I take picture, sometimes I first think of story I want to tell, sometimes I first choose a model to work with and than I think of other things such as wardrobe,location..
Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?
I mostly like fine-art photography because it has something to do with surreal, but I enjoy fashion and conceptual photography too, so i would like to combine this three genres of photography in future.
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
I’d like to create timeless stories.
My goal is to make timeless images which will inspire other people to see that beauty in darkness, to share my passion about art , and to show the world that one can do a lot to . Art is underrated in the world, specially when we talk about young people so I’d like to show young people that art is beautiful and even fun!
Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why? Please provide a link to the picture.
Favourite photo I took is millenium(http://www.flickr.com/photos/kidfromtheozz/7557582960/) because in that one you can clearly see beauty in darkness, picture of boy in the water sourrended by dark water , with that red color of the roses popping out creates the timeless feeling.
That one is special to me because it was the first time i did selfportraitthe water and also first one of my photos to be choosen as a photo of the day on photovogue.
Does your work fit into any one or more distinct genres (nature, landscape, long-exposure, black-and-white, infra-red, urban, artistic, macro, vintage, vernacular, social, street)? If other, please specify.
I’d say my artistic and fine art category suits my photos best because they are heavilly edited , surreal , with a lot of textures.
Are there any photography websites that you visit regularly?
I visit flickr sometimes, photovogue on daily basis etc. I also have facebook page on which I am active (I made a break of facebook for some time)
What is the one most important lesson that you have learned since you started taking photographs?
The most imortant lesson I learned is that imperfection makes picture perfect. Also the one regarding lesson I learned is that failure is ok and that everyting pays off sooner or later. And last but not least that beauty is everything.
And finally, what other interesting photographers would you like to see in this blog?

What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?
I’m really not technically inclined ! But well, I would like my tripod to be able to walk 😀
What is your favourite lens, and why?
My 100mm 20,8 lens, without hesitation !
When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?
I’m always taking my 5d and my lenses but I finally always shoot with my phone !
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
Photoshop cs4 and I’m discovering Lightroom since a few weeks. And of course a wacom tablet ! Didn’t touch a computer mouse since years, I’m using my tablet for everything.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration? How do you take your pictures?
I started taking photographs in 2005. I find my inspiration everywhere : movies, life, street, people, paintings, shops…
Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?

What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?
I own a Nikon d700, a 50 mm1.4 and a 18-55 that I rarely use. I also use a tripod, especially when I take self-portraits.
What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?
I don’t need a lot of equipment, I’m satisfied with what I have because I can achieve various effects with the wide aperture of the lens, and take high quality shots because of the great sensor of the d700. However I’d like to try new lenses, to get a new vision.
What is your favourite lens, and why?
The 50mm1.4, because it’s been my best friend for 5 years.
When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?
All the equipment detailed above, and basic props, such as a white dress or fake flowers, to be able to dress a model if have an unexpected idea.
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
I started with Gimp but I’ve been using Photoshop for several months now.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration? How do you take your pictures?
I started photography 5 years ago, though at first it could merely be called “photography”. Inspiration is quite unconscious for me, my ideas come spontaneously from everything that I like, memories, feelings,… it’s all mixed in my mind, and I try to express it through more or less conceptualized pictures.
I take pictures in 3 steps. First, I elaborate the idea, I draw a little sketch and try to organize every detail. Then, during the photoshoot, I try to reproduce my idea as closely as possible. Finally, I edit the picture (from basic editing to photomontage).
Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?
The style of photography which I like the most could be called “surreal”, because I love when photography, which is supposed to “catch the moment”, finally manages to create the moment. I like when a picture surprises me, moves me and makes me think at the same time.
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
I try to express universal wonders. In my photography, I want to show mental pictures that we could all have in mind. And I think it’s an endless task!
Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why? Please provide a link to the picture.
It changes all the time, because I put all my soul in each of my pictures. At the moment, it would be “Burning tears”: http://a3.4ormat.com/vfs/4498/thumbs/5263145/1600×1200.jpg
Does your work fit into any one or more distinct genres (nature, landscape, long-exposure, black-and-white, infra-red, urban, artistic, macro, vintage, vernacular, social, street)? If other, please specify.
I suppose it can fit in surreal or fine art photography.
Are there any photography websites that you visit regularly?
I follow a thousand of photographers’ works every day, I love to be amazed by other people’s pictures!
What is the one most important lesson that you have learned since you started taking photographs?
That doubting is part of the artistic process. You can’t get rid of it if you decide to follow an artistic path.
And finally, what other interesting photographers would you like to see in this blog?
I recommend Magdalena Berny’s works!

What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?
I shoot a nikon d7000, nikon 50mm 1.4 ai, and a samyang 85mm 1.4. I use a nice compact manfrotto tripod of model number I can’t remember.
What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?
Bigger sensor. If it was full frame it would be the ultimate camera (for me). I love the build quality.
What is your favourite lens, and why?
Samyang 85mm f1.4. It always makes a mondain scene into a bokehlicious wonderland.
When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?
Camera, lenses stated above, deck of cards, charger, lens cloth, tripod mount, and a remote. Oh, and a toothbrush. You never know.
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
Photoshop. That’s pretty much it. With adobe switching to subscription only, I would love an alternative but none really exists.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration? How do you take your pictures?
I have been shooting since I was 8, so six years. I find inspiration often right before falling asleep. I take picture by pushing the shutter button and standing in front of the camera.
Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?
Environmental portraits, at the moment. They combine landscape and portrait seamlessly.
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
I have none, other than to become a better photographer but that will take the rest of my life.
Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why? Please provide a link to the picture.
At the moment, this one (www.flickr.com/photos/fiddleoak/7770751130/) but it changes daily.
Does your work fit into any one or more distinct genres (nature, landscape, long-exposure, black-and-white, infra-red, urban, artistic, macro, vintage, vernacular, social, street)? If other, please specify.
All of the above. I haven’t done much street shooting or infrared, but I am willing to try anything.
Are there any photography websites that you visit regularly?
Flickr. Daily. If not three of four times a day.
What is the one most important lesson that you have learned since you started taking photographs?
Forget the rules! Shoot what feels right and it will look right.
And finally, what other interesting photographers would you like to see in this blog?
I love tungusta’s photography (www.flickr.com/photos/tunguska_rdm/) always something lovely and new to see.

What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?
I have a Canon 5d Mk 2, a 50mm 1.4 lens, gorillapod, ballhead tripod, Pocket Wizards, and I use Paul Buff lighting from time to time.
What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specifically your camera, and how would you improve it?
I wish it was waterproof! Haha, other than that it has been a great camera. I’m not very technically inclined so I tend to research what I need, this verse that, then stick with whatever will get the best end results. Mostly I just want my photographs to be as close as possible to the image I have in my head and the equipment is simply the means to that end.
What is your favourite lens, and why?
I have to say my 50mm because it’s the only one I own and a great lens for the price. The majority of my images were made using it. However I would love a 35mm or 85mm.
When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?
The Gorillapod, camera, lens, Pocket Wizards, a reflector if possible and a pen and paper to jot down ideas.
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
Lightroom 4 and Adobe Photoshop CS6 with a Wacom tablet.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration? How do you take your pictures?
Photography is something I have been interested in as long as I can remember but I started focusing on fine art and portraiture work when I entered college 5 years ago.
I find inspiration in many different ways; music, art, stories, people I meet, dreams, etc. Sometimes ideas come from the oddest and most unexpected places. We live in such a beautiful world, there are countless ways to find sources of inspiration if you don’t try to force it.
Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?
Portraits are what I find myself most connected with. I believe that photography at its core is a very human thing. It’s part of our nature to create these records, which happen to be in the form of photographs, to tell the stories of our lives. I’m always drawn to photos of people no matter what the genre is.
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
The past year my goal was to complete a 52 week project of self-portraits that I was proud of. This weekend I have finally finished them! It is a great sense of accomplishment but I am now at a new beginning. I have a big trip planned for next year and would love to shoot more documentary-style images. My goals and plans are ever changing right now.
Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why? Please provide a link to the picture.
“Of Grit and Grace” is my favorite. Even though when I look at it now I see a lot of little things that I would change in editing, it was so much fun to shoot and means a lot to me. My sister came to visit and I covered her, and then myself in the glitter which was literally everywhere. I used glitter to make us look more like each other and different from everyone else, since siblings often have a mutual understanding and bond that no one else can come close to.
“To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other’s hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember feuds and secrets, griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.” – Clara Ortega

Does your work fit into any one or more distinct genres (nature, landscape, long-exposure, black-and-white, infra-red, urban, artistic, macro, vintage, vernacular, social, street)? If other, please specify.
Ohh fine art with a few other categories mixed in I suppose.
Are there any photography websites that you visit regularly?
Sure, Phlearn, Flickr, 500px, Fstoppers, and Petapixel are my favorites.
What is the one most important lesson that you have learned since you started taking photographs?
To be patient with myself and understand that I’m not going to learn everything overnight. Improving, finding my personal style, and figuring out where I want all this to go is going to take time. Overcoming periods of self-doubt have been a struggle but I think that’s something every artist goes through and I’ve gotten better at not letting that prevent me from creating work I’m proud of.
And finally, what other interesting photographers would you like to see in this blog?
Mike Brodie, Kirsty Mitchell, Alain Laboile, and Joey L are some of my favorites right now.

2013
What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?
I use a Canon 5D Mark II camera body and a variety of lenses including the 85mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.4, and 70-200mm f/2.8. Each lens has a UV filter on it, and I carry all of that in a Lowepro camera bag. I’ve got a tripod, but I don’t generally use it unless I am shooting a self-portrait. Lastly, I’ve started to build a small collection of external lighting equipment. Right now, I have two lights (AlienBees), a few different modifiers (softboxes, umbrellas, beauty dishes), and Pocketwizards to trigger them.
What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?
For the most part, I’m pretty happy with my equipment. I am glad that my camera is full-frame. It allows me to shoot in low-light situations without compromising the aesthetics of my images. I do wish I had more lights to work with. I’m currently in the stages of experimenting with different lighting setups and trying to work high-key lighting scenarios into my style. I feel it could be easier with a few more lights in my arsenal, but so far, I’m doing alright with it.
What is your favourite lens, and why?
It depends what I’m shooting. For most of my fine art work, I prefer the 85mm f/1.8, as I find it to be attractive focal length. It allows me to be close enough to engage with my subject yet stay far away so as to capture the scene as if I were an onlooker rather than someone directing it. When shooting portraits and fashion, I stick to the 70-200mm f/2.8, because it allows for a lot of variety depending on whether I am shooting close-ups of the subject or full-body shots.
When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?
I don’t have that much equipment, so I usually just take it all (excluding the studio lighting, as it’s much too large and bulky).
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
I use Photoshop CS5 exclusively.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration?
I’ve been taking photographs for three years now, since the age of sixteen. I find inspiration in everyday life, through listening to music and reading novels. I find these methods more effective than looking at anything visually, as it allows for the individual to imagine his own scenes rather than being influenced by what he views visually.
Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?
I really enjoy surreal photography. It allows for the most creativity, in my opinion.
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
I know it’s a really cliché answers, but my ultimate goal is just to be able to make a comfortable living through photography and to stay happy and able to create what my heart desires. I have so many stories buzzing around in my head that I don’t think I will be able to die until I’ve told them all.
Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why? Please provide a link to the picture.
This is my favorite: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alex-stoddard/8055207956/in/photostream because I love the dark atmosphere playing alongside the innocence of the child subject. There is a strong composition and concept to it.
Does your work fit into any one or more distinct genres (nature, landscape, long-exposure, black-and-white, infra-red, urban, artistic, macro, vintage, vernacular, social, street)? If other, please specify.
I suppose, of those listed, it would fit into artistic photography.
Are there any photography websites that you visit regularly?
There are a few that I visit pretty regularly: Flickr, Phlearn, FStoppers, [FRAMED].
What is the one most important lesson that you have learned since you started taking photographs?
I must create for myself first and foremost. Everyone else comes second.
And finally, what other interesting photographers would you like to see in this blog?
There’s an artist named Marwane Pallas who I think is absolutely brilliant. I’d like to see him on here.

What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?
I am using a Canon EOS 7D, a benro A1980F tripod, a custom made softbox, a 16 GB sandisc card and two lenses EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM and EF-S 15-85mm.
What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?
What I really like about my camera is that it has the ability to focus in many points at the same time, and that it has coped very well so far with many difficult conditions like weather, or packing and moving. It practically stays in my bag or changes bags most of the times ready to shoot some newly found texture or a strange wild flower or insect. Also it’s battery lasts long enough for my needs and I rarely needed to recharge it during a photo shoot or have a second one to replace it. Sometimes it’s weight can be very tiring for my arms since I carry it everywhere most of the time. But I guess it’s the price I have to pay if I want quality photos! Sometimes when I take HD video it overheats and closes after half hour and needs to be left for a while to cool down.
What is your favourite lens, and why?
My favourite lens is the EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM since I love close ups and macro photography so this gives me the ability to draw my viewer’s eyes on the important little details and blur all the rest that is unwanted and distracting. This lens helps to magnify all those things that someone in real life would pay little to no attention to and would probably pass unnoticed and emphasize them creating a magical bokeh environment to compliment the subject.
When you travel, what is in your essential kit bag?
Since I don’t have too many stuff in my possession I usually take all of the above with me!
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
I use Photoshop CS5 and a Wacom Intuos 4 Medium tablet.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration?
I have been taking pictures and experimenting with shutter speed, aperture and light settings since I was a kid but most of my creativity burst in 2006 when I got my first digital camera a SONY DSC-W50. It helped me to experiment a lot with macro photography and composition and the first compliments about my professional looking work started coming to my ears. But most impressions about my professional looking work where usually being worn off when they heard it was a small compact camera like this that produced these results. I still love that camera and keep it by my side since it has taught me so much and although it was only 6MP back then it always surpassed all its later models in sharpness and clarity on macro subjects! So in 2010 I bought my Canon EOS 7D and have learned a lot of technical stuff from online tutorials and from fellow photographers. My inspiration comes from the world of glamour from beauty magazines, fantasy movies but also from nature. I don’t like very artificial subjects I like to mix things up and make my own interpretation of stories!
Which style of photography do you like the most, and why?
I am an open minded person, there are many kinds of photography that I like but the ones that have mostly appealed to me is portrait, macro glamour, macro nature and surreal photography.
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
I think I will never say that fully reach my goals but that is totally acceptable because I always want to look up to something and try to get better in skills so that I turn all this energy into motivating creativity. Sometimes I focus on developing the background of my subject while other times I work on my technical skills. Since I am self taught and I do this along with photo retouching and photo manipulation I have to try to maintain a good level in all of them and that is a constant struggle. But it leaves me with a good feeling every time I compare my new works to my older ones and I see a significant difference!
Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why?
My favourite piece is Cherry bite http://ftourini.deviantart.com/art/cherry-bite-135750983?q=boost%3Apopular%20gallery%3Aftourini&qo=24 because of its technical difficulty and the innovations that I had to do in order to take this underwater shot! It think it turned out pretty well; don’t you find?
Are there any photography websites that you visit regularly?
Being a designer means I can find inspiration not only in photography websites. What is most important for me is the technical aspect as well as the application of the graphic elements over an image. I usually find great examples in www.abduzeedo.com www.deviantart.com, www.behance.net www.flickr.com and several facebook photography pages.
What is the one most important lesson that you have learned since you started taking photographs?
If you are looking for and artistic result avoid using direct flash at all costs and take lots of pictures of the same object from different angles and always experiment with the composition. It’s free of cost since we live in the era of digital photography and will help you understand which pictures will work and which not!
And finally, what other interesting photographers would you like to see in this blog?
