What kind of equipment (camera body, lens, filters, flash, tripod, cleaning equipment other) do you use?
I shoot tethered with a 5d MK2.
What do you like and dislike about your equipment, specially your camera, and how would you improve it?
There is nothing i really dislike about my camera, I do however wish it had a more powerful sensor.
What is your favourite lens, and why?
I prefer to shoot as wide as possible anything from 10 mm to 14 mm.
When you travel, what is in your essential photographic kit bag?
I don’t travel much in relation to my work, but if I did. it would include a camera and some film. The less I have to work with the more creative it forces me to be.
What kind of software/tools do you use for post-processing, if any?
Adobe Photoshop if I am doing a composite shot.
How long have you been taking photographs? How do you find inspiration?
Over 10 years. My inspiration come from everything and everyone. I keep my eyes open all the time and try to be as receptive to my emotions and day to day occurrences.
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
I’m not working towards a specific goal. For me the process is what is most fulfilling.
Looking at your own work, which piece is your favourite? Why?
Its hard to say which is my favourite, I really like how to breathe underwater because of the personal meaning the work has for me and the technical success of it. It’s by far one of the most complex lighting situations I have created.
Does your work fit into any one or more distinct genres (nature, landscape, long-exposure, black-and-white, infra-red, urban, artistic, macro, vintage, vernacular, social, street)? If other, please specify.
I call it miniature photography, sometimes I refer to myself as a diorama artist. It varies, Sometime I feel more like a sculptor and at others more of a photographer, My training was very interdisciplinary and I think that is something that has carried on through my work.
What is the one most important lesson that you have learned since you started taking photographs?
Do it only because you love it.
And finally, what other interesting photographers would you like to see in this blog?
I like other photographers such as Lori Nix, Adam Makarenko, and Patrick Jacobs.
